A Sultanpur court has taken strong objection to Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh's absence in a two-decade-old case and has ordered his arrest. The court has mandated that the police produce him by August 28.

On August 13, a non-bailable warrant was issued against Singh, SP leader Anoop Sanda, and four others, with the hearing set for Tuesday. However, none of the accused appeared in court, aggravating the situation.

Madan Singh, the defense representative for the six accused, mentioned that a bail petition for Singh and Sanda has been filed in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court, with a hearing on August 22. The case dates back to June 19, 2001, during a demonstration about poor power supply, and all six involved were convicted this January.
