A tragic incident unfolded in Berhampur town, Odisha, leading to the deaths of a minor girl and her cousin, Ashutosh Panigrahy, police reported on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at Jagannath Bihar under the Bada Bazar police station jurisdiction on Monday. Ashutosh allegedly stabbed his minor cousins and then attempted to flee. However, he suffered serious injuries in a road accident near Hinjili and was later pronounced dead at MKCG Medical College and Hospital.
The motive behind the attack remains unknown. Police have launched a detailed investigation into the matter, ensuring all aspects are thoroughly examined, stated Baba Shankar Saraf, Inspector-in-Charge of Bada Bazar police station.
