A Thane Court has granted approval for a test identification parade of the accused in the Badlapur minors' sexual assault case, as requested by the Special Investigating Team (SIT). The parade will occur under the supervision of the Executive Magistrate, with the victims identifying the accused individuals.

The case involves the alleged sexual assault of two four-year-olds inside a school in Badlapur, Maharashtra. Post-identification, the SIT plans to develop a psychological profile of the accused to aid further investigation.

On Friday, the SIT announced that two school trustees were declared absconding. The crime branch and cyber police are actively searching for the trustees, who are evading cooperation after a negligence case was registered against them. Police efforts to locate them at their residences have thus far been unsuccessful.

Previously, on August 27, the Bombay High Court stressed the need for early education on gender equality for boys, referencing the Badlapur case during a session. Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Prithviraj Chavan highlighted the persistence of male dominance and the importance of teaching appropriate behavior from a young age. They recommended forming a committee to devise preventive guidelines for schools.

On August 23, the SIT registered an FIR against the school authorities under Section 19 of the POCSO Act for failing to report the assault promptly. The investigation, led by the deputy director of the Mumbai region, involves multiple departmental collaborations. (ANI)
