A tragic and disturbing incident occurred in southwest Delhi, where a five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 14-year-old boy from the same neighborhood. The police confirmed the incident on Saturday.
The alleged rape took place on Thursday afternoon when the girl's parents, both laborers, were away at work, leaving the girl alone at home. The police acted swiftly upon receiving information about the crime.
The girl was immediately taken for a medical examination and provided counseling in the presence of her parents. The police have registered a case under section 65 (2) (rape of minor) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The boy, who is the son of the complainant's friend, has been apprehended and sent to an observation home. An ongoing investigation is being conducted to uncover further details.
