A British-registered luxury yacht sank off the Sicilian coast, leaving one person dead and six others missing, including prominent tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch. The vessel, Bayesian, went down amid a violent storm early Monday near Palermo.
The yacht was carrying 22 people, with the Italian coast guard confirming the nationalities of the missing as British, American, and Canadian. Fifteen individuals, including a one-year-old child, were rescued.
Divers are inspecting the wreckage, located 49 meters underwater, while local prosecutors have launched an investigation. Lynch is renowned for his work in the tech industry and was recently acquitted of fraud charges in the United States.
