Escalating Violence in West Bank Amid Gaza Tensions

An Israeli man died from wounds sustained in an attack in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, according to a spokesperson at Israel's Beilinson Hospital. The military said earlier the man was attacked by a Palestinian militant who stole his weapon. No Palestinian group had so far claimed responsibility.
Violence in the West Bank has escalated since the war in Gaza between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas broke out in October last year. The latest attack comes as U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Israel on a Middle East tour aimed at intensifying diplomatic pressure to achieve a Gaza ceasefire.
The Gaza war threatens to spill into a wider regional conflict involving Iran and its proxies including Lebanon-based Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen.
