Police in Northern Ireland have ordered the evacuation of over 400 homes following the discovery of a suspected World War II-era bomb in Newtownards, County Down.
The removal operation, which began on Friday, could take more than five days to complete, officials stated on Sunday.
'I appreciate the disruption that this has caused, however keeping people safe is paramount and we will not take any risks,' said Superintendent Johnston McDowell, North Down and Ards District Commander. Police have established barricades and requested drivers to avoid the area. An emergency support center has been set up for the displaced residents.
