Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath criticized the BJP for politicizing the rape and murder of a postgraduate trainee doctor in Kolkata. Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Nath stated that the way the BJP is raising the issue was 'wrong'.

The tragic incident that took place on August 9 at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has resulted in widespread protests across the country. The BJP has demanded the resignation of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the case.

When asked about the BJP's demand, Nath called it 'politics' and said that strict action should be taken in the case. He also responded to questions on the inclusion of RSS icons in MP's curriculum, asserting that history cannot be changed. Additionally, Nath noted that the Waqf Amendment Bill will be reviewed by the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC).
