The Delhi High Court has intervened to support a Delhi Police constable candidate who was earlier rejected owing to a 'faded tattoo' on his right forearm, directing the authorities to allow him to join the force.

Noting that the candidate underwent surgery to remove the tattoo, the court physically inspected his arm and found no visible tattoo. Justices Suresh Kumar Kait and Girish Kathpalia stated that the dim scar visible on his arm could not serve as grounds for disqualification.

The High Court dismissed a plea by the Staff Selection Commission challenging a Central Administrative Tribunal order that granted relief to the candidate and instructed the authorities to permit him to join the training within a week.
