Senior Citizen Arrested for Sexual Assault on Teenager in Shahdol

Police have apprehended a 69-year-old man for the alleged rape of a teenage girl in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district, an official confirmed on Sunday.

The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Beohari police station on August 14, with the crime reported to authorities the following day.

According to Beohari police station in-charge Arun Pandey, the accused raped the 16-year-old girl when she was alone at home. The victim, along with her family, approached local police on August 15 and filed a complaint.

The suspect was detained on August 16 and is now facing charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the official added.
