A violent family dispute resulted in tragedy in Bachra village when a 50-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her own son over a disagreement about selling goats, police reported on Saturday.
The victim, Kamlesh Devi, reportedly suffered a fatal blow to the head inflicted by her son, Kishun Bihari Yadav, using a blunt instrument, authorities said. Following the attack, Yadav attempted to conceal the crime by covering his mother's body with a cloth and setting it ablaze with petrol.
Quick action from neighbors who noticed the fire could not save Devi, who had already succumbed to her injuries. Law enforcement officials have taken Yadav into custody in relation to the crime, which highlights a shocking case of domestic violence and family strife.
