British Arms Allowed in Ukraine's Defense Against Russia
The British Ministry of Defence has confirmed that Ukrainian forces can use British-supplied weapons on Russian territory, while restrictions on long-range Storm Shadow missiles remain. Ukraine's operations aim to create a protective buffer and have re-captured significant Russian territory. Britain has provided extensive military assistance but has refused to permit long-range attacks, citing escalation risks.
The British Ministry of Defence has given Ukraine the green light to use British-supplied weapons on Russian soil, although the use of long-range Storm Shadow missiles remains restricted.
In recent events, Ukraine has conducted its largest foreign attack on Russia since World War Two, aiming to establish a buffer zone to safeguard its population. The Ministry's latest stance highlights Ukraine's right to self-defense under international law, enabling the use of tanks, anti-tank missiles, and other gear against Russian forces.
Despite comprehensive military aid totaling 7.6 billion pounds, Britain, along with other Western nations, remains cautious about allowing Ukraine to deploy long-range weapons, fearing escalation. Russia has issued warnings against such strikes, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy continues to push for permission for long-range missile use.
