Zelenskiy Calls on Trudeau to Advocate for Deeper Strikes into Russia
President Zelenskiy has asked Canadian PM Justin Trudeau to advocate among Ukraine's Western allies for permission to target military sites within Russia. Trudeau reaffirmed support for Ukraine and discussed an upcoming conference on prisoners. The meeting, likely in October, follows a recent peace summit.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has called on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to advocate for Ukraine's Western allies to permit strikes on military targets deep inside Russia.
Zelenskiy made this request during a phone call with Trudeau, aiming to secure both approval and the necessary resources for such actions.
Trudeau reassured him that Russia's aggressive actions have only strengthened global unity in supporting Ukraine. Canada, a NATO member, has been providing significant military and financial aid to Kyiv since the Russian invasion in February 2022, and continues to support Ukraine diplomatically.
