The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued a notice to BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj in response to AAP leader Somnath Bharti's petition challenging her election to the Lok Sabha on allegations of corrupt practices.

Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora has asked Swaraj to submit her reply within 30 days.

In a related development, the court removed former AAP minister Raaj Kumar Anand from the list of respondents, citing no cause of action against him. Bharti and Swaraj had contested from the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat, where Bharti received 3,74,815 votes and Swaraj polled 4,53,185 votes. The petition, filed under Sections 80 and 81 of the Representation of the People Act, accuses Swaraj and her election agent of corrupt practices.
