Scottie Scheffler put on another clinic from tee-to-green at East Lake, posting a 5-under 66 to maintain a four-shot lead at the Tour Championship on Friday, a margin that didn't appear as substantial as it seemed.
Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele added to the drama with impressive rounds. Morikawa carded an 8-under 63, featuring nine birdies, including two after a 93-minute storm delay, while Schauffele finished with a solid 64, thanks to clutch putts on the 17th and 18th holes.
Scheffler, aiming to win the FedEx Cup and its $25 million prize, remains composed and focused. Despite the pressure from his rivals, he showcased remarkable consistency, returning from the storm delay with two birdies and reaching 21-under par. Morikawa and Schauffele are close behind, but Scheffler's precise driving and iron play make him a formidable target.
