ACB Director-General CV Anand announced that Joint Collector MV Bhoopal Reddy and Senior Assistant Y Madan Mohan Reddy were trapped and arrested for colluding and abusing their positions to accept the bribe. They were involved in removing 14 guntas of land from a prohibited list on the Dharani portal. The ACB managed to stay a step ahead, strategizing throughout the night to catch them red-handed.

Madan Mohan Reddy was apprehended at Gurramguda X road while taking the bribe in his car. He confessed to demanding the bribe on behalf of MV Bhoopal Reddy. The money was handed over to Bhoopal Reddy near Peddamberpet ORR and recovered from his vehicle. Both officers have been accused of abusing their official powers and the case remains under investigation.
