IED Blast Injures CoBRA Jawan in Jharkhand's Maoist Operation

A CoBRA battalion jawan was injured in an IED explosion during a search operation against Maoists in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district. Sub-inspector Jitendra Dani was airlifted to Ranchi hospital for treatment. Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar visited the injured jawan and emphasized the reduction of Maoist incidents but called for complete eradication of the menace.

A CoBRA battalion jawan was injured in an IED explosion on Thursday during a search operation against Maoists in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district, according to police reports.

The incident took place around 7.30 am in Saranda forest within the Chotanagara police station area, as per the official statement. Sub-inspector Jitendra Dani of the CoBRA 209 battalion was immediately airlifted to a hospital in Ranchi for better treatment.

During a joint operation comprising Chaibasa Police, CoBRA battalion, Jharkhand Jaguar, and CRPF, an IED planted by Maoists targeting the security forces exploded, injuring the sub-inspector. Authorities had received intelligence indicating that key Maoist leaders and their squad were operating in the area.

Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar visited the injured jawan at the Ranchi hospital and discussed his condition with the attending doctors. The Governor also spoke to media, noting the reduction in Maoist activities but underlining the need for total elimination of the threat.
