PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday called for the formation of a panel with representatives from both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir to address the region's issues.
Speaking at the 25th foundation day function of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Mehbooba urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to establish a committee of 20 representatives from each side.
Mehbooba criticized Shah's statements about reclaiming Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and asked him to instead form a committee of representatives to discuss shared issues. She emphasized the need for biannual meetings to foster dialogue and proposed a similar approach to that of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
She challenged Shah to set aside his ego for the nation's sake and facilitate this collaborative effort, questioning his patriotism and courage to replicate Vajpayee's initiatives. Furthermore, she advocated for the release of Kashmiri youth imprisoned across the country.
