In a dramatic turn of events, a federal judge in California has accused Hunter Biden's lawyers of making false statements in their recent court filings. U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi alleges that the lawyers misrepresented the case's historical facts while attempting to dismiss a tax case against President Joe Biden's son.

Judge Scarsi, appointed by former President Donald Trump, claims that the lawyers knew their statements were untrue. He pointed out that Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss had not yet been named special counsel when he charged Hunter Biden with misdemeanor tax offenses, contradicting the lawyers' claims.

Attorney Mark Geragos, representing Hunter Biden, told The Associated Press that the legal team stands by their statements and will respond to the judge's allegations. The tax case, involving $1.4 million in unpaid taxes, is slated for trial in September.
