A special court in Kolkata on Friday sanctioned a polygraph test for Sanjay Roy, the main suspect in the rape and killing of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, officials confirmed.

The court had previously approved a lie-detection test for Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of the college, along with four other doctors who were on duty during the incident on the night of August 8-9, authorities stated.

The arrest of Roy, who was captured on CCTV entering the seminar hall where the victim's body was discovered, followed the discovery of a Bluetooth device at the crime scene.
