In a tragic incident in north Delhi's Sadar Bazar area, a 45-year-old man, identified as Pramod, was electrocuted following heavy rainfall. The incident occurred on Wednesday when waterlogging outside Pramod's hut led to a lethal encounter with an unauthorized electricity connection.

The police responded to a PCR call about the electrocution and rushed Pramod to HR Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Pramod, who hailed from Samastipur in Bihar, was unmarried and lived with his mother. He operated a small 'dhaba' from their jhuggi.

Authorities explained that heavy rains caused water to accumulate near Sherawali market, leading to a breach in the illegal electrical setup. An FIR under section 106 (1) of the BNS has been registered, and the crime team has inspected the site. Just days earlier, another individual was electrocuted in a similar incident in central Delhi.
