The auspicious festival of Ganesh Chaturthi commenced with great energy on Saturday, with Bollywood singer and composer Kailash Kher marking the occasion in a unique way. Kher visited the renowned Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati in Maharashtra, where he performed pooja to honor Lord Ganesha.

Dressed in traditional Maharashtrian attire, Kailash Kher was spotted offering prayers to Lord Ganesha. In an interview with ANI, Kher expressed his feelings about the visit. "It feels like a pilgrimage. Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati is India's first public Ganpati... India is fortunate, and so am I, to be here. I urge Indians and Sanatanis to stay united and live with love," he stated.

Earlier in the day, actor Kartik Aaryan captured the festive spirit by visiting Mumbai's Lalbaugcha Raja. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his heartfelt wishes on X, saying, "Heartiest greetings of Ganesh Chaturthi to all countrymen. Ganpati Bappa Morya!"

Ganesh Chaturthi, a vibrant ten-day celebration, began today and will continue until Anantha Chaturdashi. Also known as Vinayak Chaturthi or Vinayak Chavithi, the festival honors Lord Ganesha as the 'God of New Beginnings' and 'Remover of Obstacles,' celebrating his wisdom and intelligence. In Mumbai, anticipation is high with the unveiling of the Lalbaugcha Raja, one of the city's most famous Ganesh idols.

The Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal has been a prominent fixture since 1934, maintained by the Kambli family for over eighty years. Simultaneously, Nagpur's Shri Ganesh Mandir Tekdi, believed to be 250 years old, initiated its festivities with traditional morning prayers and aarti. Revered for its self-existent deity, the temple remains a significant spiritual hub during the festival.

Across Maharashtra and other regions, preparations for Ganesh Chaturthi are in full swing. Devotees are bringing Ganesh idols into their homes, preparing offerings, and visiting pandals, contributing to the vibrant festive atmosphere. (ANI)
