Social activist Anjali Damania has called for the resignation of Maharashtra ministers Pankaja and Dhananjay Munde amid investigations into the murder of a Beed district village sarpanch. Damania alleges the ministers have connections to a key accused, Walmik Karad, involved in an extortion case linked to the murder.
The sarpanch, Santosh Deshmukh, was reportedly abducted and killed after opposing an extortion attempt by individuals demanding money from a windmill company. Dhananjay Munde, linked to the accused, faces allegations of financial ties with Karad, who is currently absconding.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has initiated a judicial probe into Deshmukh's murder. Opposition parties are rallying for transparency as four arrests have been made. Pankaja Munde, Environment Minister, and Dhananjay, NCP leader, deny any wrongdoing, pending the investigation's outcome.
