A 15-year-old boy lost his life after drowning in heavy rain in Delhi's Chanakyapuri area on Friday, police officials reported. The incident occurred around noon when the boy was playing outside and the water flow increased rapidly, leading to the tragic drowning.

'A 15-year-old boy died due to drowning in Delhi's Chanakyapuri area. This incident happened at around noon when it was raining heavily. This boy was playing and the flow of water was very fast. After going some distance, the body of the boy was found,' said Delhi Police. Severe waterlogging and massive traffic congestion were reported in several parts of Delhi after the heavy rain on Friday morning.

Visuals from Dhaula Kuan showed significant traffic congestion due to waterlogging. Commuters struggled to wade through the waterlogged roads while vehicles faced difficulties crossing. One commuter mentioned being stuck in traffic for three hours. Meanwhile, Delhi Police announced that waterlogging at Anand Parvat, which had affected traffic on New Rohtak Road, has been cleared, resolving the traffic issue in the area.
