Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) experienced substantial rainfall on Monday, as forecasted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The showers affected areas such as India Gate, Janpath Road, R K Puram, Kalindi Kunj, and Gandhinagar.

In a statement on social media platform X, the Regional Meteorological Centre of New Delhi predicted further light rainfall and drizzle across many parts of Delhi and NCR, including Bahadurgarh, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Farukhnagar, Nuh (Haryana), and several areas in Rajasthan like Khairthal, Alwar, and Rajgarh, within the next few hours.

Delhi Traffic Police also took to X to inform citizens about traffic disruptions caused by waterlogging and potholes. Key affected routes include Road No.13 from Kalindi Kunj towards Okhla Estate Road and Rohtak Road in the carriageway from Nangloi towards Tikri Border. Officers advised commuters to avoid these routes and opt for alternatives due to severe congestion.

Visuals from Dhaula Kuan captured extensive traffic congestion, with vehicles struggling to navigate waterlogged roads. Commuters faced significant delays as they waded through knee-deep water. The waterlogging dramatically slowed down traffic flow in the affected areas.

On Wednesday, the region witnessed incessant rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Tuesday also saw light to moderate rain across various parts of Delhi, with overcast skies lingering throughout the day. The consistent rainfall has continued to exacerbate traffic issues across the region.
