NC vice president Omar Abdullah on Tuesday expressed approval for the Supreme Court's interim stay on the Kanwar Yatra order in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. He challenged the BJP's intentions, underscoring that Amarnath and Vaishno Devi yatras in Jammu and Kashmir are dependent on Muslim collaboration.

Abdullah criticized the BJP-led states' policies, emphasizing that the people who facilitate these pilgrimages often belong to the Muslim community. He raised questions on whether similar directives would be issued for the Amarnath Yatra.

On Monday, the Supreme Court halted the BJP-ruled UP and Uttarakhand's move mandating eateries along the Kanwar Yatra routes to display ownership details, seen as promoting religious discrimination. Abdullah also commented on the government's stance on RSS and political functions for employees, and expressed concerns over key issues in Jammu and Kashmir being addressed in the Union Budget.
