Delhi Police have busted a fake call centre and arrested 20 individuals, including nine women, for allegedly cheating people under the guise of providing loans through government schemes, according to an officer on Tuesday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan stated that more than 400 victims fell prey to the fraudulent operations, with the total cheating amounting to Rs 40 lakh. Police have already identified over 50 victims across the country.

The fake call centre operated from Lado Sarai in south Delhi and deceived individuals into transferring money into accounts controlled by the scammers. The suspects were arrested on Monday, and the police confiscated 32 mobile phones, 48 fake SIM cards, four laptops, and 23 bank accounts.
