23-Year-Old Arrested in Pune for Allegedly Raping Minor Girl

Police in Pune have arrested a 23-year-old man, Kartik Kambale, for allegedly threatening and raping a minor girl in the Hinjewadi area. The accused has been booked under multiple sections of the IPC and POCSO Act.
According to authorities, Kambale met the victim on Instagram and coerced her into a physical relationship against her will. He also issued death threats should she disclose their relationship. The events unfolded between April and June earlier this year.
Following a formal complaint, the police registered a case at the Hinjewadi police station and took Kambale into custody on Thursday. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Suresh Kurade, informed that the suspect has been remanded for four days. Further legal proceedings are in progress.
