UNDP Appoints Angela Lusigi as India's New Resident Representative

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced the appointment of Angela Lusigi as the new resident representative for India.
Lusigi, who previously served as the UNDP resident representative in Ghana and as a Strategic Advisor in the UNDP Regional Bureau for Africa in New York since 2012, is set to bring her expansive experience to India.
In her statement, Lusigi commended India's progress in sustainable development, particularly in public healthcare, climate action, and inclusive growth. She noted the country's innovative use of digital technology in health service delivery and social protection, areas in which UNDP is actively supporting.
She also underscored the global interest in learning from India's efforts, especially in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) localization and acceleration, SDG Finance, and South-South Cooperation.
Furthermore, Lusigi reaffirmed UNDP's dedication to supporting India's national priorities and global commitments through the UNDP Country Programme 2023-27.
