A 19-year-old man participating in Maharashtra's police recruitment drive has been booked for allegedly consuming a prohibited medication, authorities confirmed on Sunday.

Identified as Sahil Sanap from Khatav, Satara district, the accused was partaking in the drive held at Saket Maidan, Thane, according to an official from Rabodi police station.

'On July 12, during his field test, it was discovered that Sanap had ingested Tab Defcort 6mg, which violates the recruitment rules. He has not yet been arrested,' the official stated.

Sanap faces charges under section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, the official added.
