BJP workers protested in Thane on Saturday, accusing the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) of politicising the alleged sexual abuse of two minor girls at a Badlapur school. The protest, led by BJP's Thane district president Sanjay Waghule and MLA Sanjay Kelkar, saw participants assemble in front of the Ahilyadevi memorial amid rains, demanding swift justice for the victims.
"This severe incident has devastated the victims' families, yet MVA leaders are busy politicising the tragedy to defame Maharashtra," Waghule alleged. Kelkar also accused MVA leaders of being insensitive and power-hungry.
The protest saw participation from local BJP leaders, former corporators, women wing members, and other office-bearers. Meanwhile, MVA staged protests across Maharashtra, criticising the Mahayuti government for its alleged inefficient handling of the Badlapur incident, which led to a massive rail roko demonstration on Tuesday.
