Manipur Police Seize Arms and Ammunition in Major Operations
Manipur police have seized a cache of arms and ammunition in Imphal East and West districts. The operations saw the recovery of multiple rifles, pistols, hand grenades, and ammunition. Manipur police have successfully conducted a series of operations leading to the seizure of arms and ammunition in both Imphal East and West districts. The official statement detailed the confiscation of multiple firearms, including an AK 56 rifle and several pistols, alongside hand grenades and ammunition during a search in Heingang Ching on Saturday.
Further operations in Imphal West's Khuyathong and Nagamapal areas on Friday resulted in the confiscation of an excalibur rifle, 7.62 mm Ar (GHAATAK), and an MA-3, MK-II rifle with ammunition. These operations are part of ongoing efforts to enhance security measures in the region.
Additionally, the police apprehended two individuals involved in vehicle theft in Imphal West on Saturday. The suspects were found in possession of a .45 pistol, a 9mm pistol, and live ammunition. These arrests underline the severity of the ongoing threat and the police's commitment to ensuring public safety.
