The Nagpur police have broken up a sex racket that was being run from a salon in the city, leading to the arrest of two managers, an official confirmed on Saturday.

The social security branch (SSB) of the crime branch conducted a raid on the salon located on West High Court Road on Friday night, uncovering the prostitution operation, the official noted.

During the raid, the police apprehended Akanksha alias Ritika alias Kumud Hiralal Meshram, age 26, and Sophia alias Neetu Zakir Sekh, age 30, who were running the establishment, the official said.

The operation also resulted in the rescue of three women who had been forced into prostitution, according to the official.

A case has been filed against the accused under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) at the Sitabuldi police station, the official added.
