All of Ukraine faced fresh air raid alerts during Monday's morning rush hour, spurred by a significant threat of massive Russian missile and drone attacks, according to Ukraine's military. This follows several waves of overnight drone attacks.
Ukraine's air force monitored the launch of multiple missiles targeting the country, along with tens of drones posing a nationwide threat. By 0500 GMT, there were no reports of explosions or casualties. Earlier on Monday, Russia launched two waves of drone attacks with initial reports indicating no damage or injuries.
Serhiy Popko, head of Kyiv's military administration, stated via the Telegram messaging app that up to 10 drones were intercepted near the city around 0230 GMT. Reuters' witnesses reported hearing several blasts likely due to air defense systems engaging in repelling the air attack.
No immediate comments were made by Russia. Both nations deny targeting civilians and claim their attacks aim to destroy infrastructure crucial to the opposing war efforts.
