The Andhra Pradesh police have registered an 'attempt to murder' case against former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and other senior officials, following a complaint by TDP MLA K Raghurama Krishna Raju, an official revealed on Friday.

Raju, the ruling party's MLA from Undi, lodged the complaint accusing Reddy and others of custodial torture and conspiracy during his 2021 arrest.

Senior IPS officers PV Sunil Kumar and PSR Sitaramanjaneyulu, along with retired officers R Vijay Paul and former Guntur Government General Hospital superintendent G Prabhavati, are also implicated. The complaint alleges that a false case was registered against Raju, leading to his unlawful arrest and mistreatment in May 2021.
