Following the approval of prosecuting Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in an excise policy case by Delhi L-G VK Saxena, AAP Minister Atishi declared on Saturday that the BJP's conspiracy is apparent and doomed to fail. Addressing the media, Atishi stated that Kejriwal was wrongfully arrested before the Lok Sabha elections.

"The BJP's conspiracy is evident. It is clear how the BJP is leveraging the ED and CBI as political instruments. On June 20, Kejriwal received bail from the trial court in the ED case. Before the order was even uploaded, the ED approached the High Court on June 21 and obtained a stay on that bail order. By June 22, Kejriwal took the matter to the Supreme Court. When BJP learned of his SC bail, the CBI arrested Kejriwal on June 26," she remarked. "With the Supreme Court giving the CBI two weeks to respond, they asked for more time," Atishi added.

The AAP leader asserted that despite the BJP's efforts, the truth would prevail. "Every conspiracy of the BJP, hatched through CBI and ED, will fail," she emphasized.

The central probe agency recently filed a sanction in the Rouse Avenue court. The CBI has already filed a supplementary charge sheet against Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal, arrested on June 26 and in judicial custody until August 27. The court will review the supplementary charges on August 27, contingent on the sanction needed for prosecution.

On August 20, the Rouse Avenue Court extended Kejriwal's judicial custody in the CBI case until August 27, 2024. The AAP Chief was arrested by the ED on March 21, 2024, concerning a money laundering investigation linked to alleged irregularities in the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy 2021-22. On June 26, 2024, Kejriwal was again arrested by the CBI while in ED custody.
