Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi took immediate action on Monday to ensure free medical treatment for a minor boy suffering from a rare eye disease. The boy, Pratyush Giri from Boudh district, had faced challenges in accessing necessary healthcare due to financial constraints and insurance issues.
After hearing the family's plight at his grievance cell, Majhi arranged for an ambulance to transfer Pratyush to Capital Hospital and subsequently to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack. The state's government will cover all medical expenses, with potential support from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
Majhi highlighted the success of his public grievance cell, noting a 78% resolution rate within the first six days, and promised a serious approach to addressing citizen issues across the state. A new camp office has been established in Keonjhar district to aid this effort.
