The Odisha government has ordered the expulsion of a senior resident doctor at SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack, following accusations of raping two patients. Dr. Santosh Kumar Mishra, Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET), recommended the decision after an inquiry.

A three-member committee confirmed the doctor's involvement in the offences and reported no evidence of a conspiracy. The doctor, from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, was arrested on August 13 after complaints were filed by the two victims.

The alleged incidents occurred on August 11 during ECHO tests. The state's Health & Family Welfare Department took the matter seriously, leading to the formation of a probe committee comprising key medical and administrative figures.
