A tragic incident occurred in Odisha's Jharsuguda district on Tuesday as a worker succumbed to injuries and five others were hurt due to a poisonous gas leak at a private factory, a police officer revealed.

The victim, Barun Pradhan, aged 38, was employed as a contractual worker at the facility.

According to Sub-Divisional Police Officer Umashankar Singh, the injured were promptly admitted to a healthcare facility. He stated that a case has been lodged at the Jharsuguda Sadar police station, and the post-mortem examination of the deceased has been completed.
