Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed admiration for the state's administrative efforts, lauding their exemplary arrangements for the Char Dham Yatra. He revealed that this year's Kedarnath Dham has witnessed a record-breaking influx of devotees, despite recent adversities, attributing this success to the administration's meticulous planning.

During a visit to Kedarnath Dham, Chief Minister Dhami paid homage to Lord Shiva, wishing prosperity and well-being for the state's people. Kedarnath is esteemed as one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, sacred to Lord Shiva. The Chief Minister also engaged with pilgrims, gathering their insights on the current arrangements.

Part of the revered Char Dham circuit, Kedarnath accompanies Yamunotri, Gangotri, and Badrinath, with shrines operational for about six months annually. Kedarnath opened on April 25, and will close its doors on November 3 for the winter. This season saw a 17-day delay from May 10, unlike last year's earlier start.

The holy journey commences from Yamunotri, advances to Gangotri, continues to Kedarnath, and concludes at Badrinath. Last year, 56.13 lakh pilgrims took the Char Dham Yatra, compared to 46.29 lakh in 2022, and 34.77 lakh in 2019. The pandemic severely impacted the 2020 and 2021 pilgrimages, drastically reducing numbers to 3.30 lakh and 5.29 lakh respectively.
