Jamie Dimon Considers Treasury Role in Potential Harris Administration
Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, may consider a role as Treasury Secretary if Kamala Harris becomes U.S. President. Though Dimon downplayed the likelihood, he maintains that patriotism might motivate him to serve his country over his company. The report remains unconfirmed by parties involved.
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon is reportedly considering the prospect of serving as Treasury Secretary if Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris wins the upcoming U.S. presidential election, according to the New York Times.
Despite his willingness, Dimon has not publicly declared his intentions, fearing possible repercussions if Republican candidate Donald Trump wins instead. The influential bank executive has long been rumored for such positions within U.S. economic circles.
During JPMorgan's recent post-earnings call, Dimon deemed the probability of taking up a government role as "almost nil," while reserving the right to change his mind. He reinforced his commitment to American patriotism, underscoring his readiness to prioritize national service over corporate duties.
