Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his profound sorrow over the demise of Dr. Bibek Debroy, the Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister. In a heartfelt message, Adityanath extended his prayers for the peace of the departed soul and offered condolences to the grieving family.
In a statement shared on social media, Chief Minister Adityanath remarked on the deep impact of Dr. Debroy's passing, highlighting his role in molding India's economic landscape. He invoked divine blessings for the family's strength in this time of sorrow. 'Om Shanti,' he added reverently.
Dr. Debroy was a pivotal figure in economic reform, credited with multiple policy transformations. He passed away on Friday at 7 am in AIIMS Delhi, after battling an intestinal illness. Posthumously honored for his achievements, Debroy previously held the role of chancellor at the Gokhale Institute in Pune.
