On Friday, Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, stressed the importance of creating a system that acknowledges and values the skills of individuals. In a poignant Diwali video, he engaged with paint job workers and potters, highlighting the struggles faced by these artisans.
In an over nine-minute YouTube video, Gandhi, joined by his nephew Raihan Rajiv Vadra, spent Diwali working with painters and crafting earthen diyas with a potter family. He observed their work, learned their skills, and understood the hardships they face, noting that they sacrifice their homelands to illuminate others' celebrations.
Gandhi reflected on the irony that those who build homes often struggle to maintain their own. While marking Diwali, he advocated for a system that respects everyone's skills, hoping it would bring happiness and prosperity. Gandhi's interactions, part of his Bharat Jodo initiatives, often focus on raising awareness of societal issues.
