In anticipation of Cyclone Dana, the Odisha government has mandated the closure of educational institutions in 14 districts from October 23 to October 25, as per an order from the Special Relief Commissioner's Office. The decision affects schools in regions including Ganjam, Puri, and Kendrapara.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts significant rainfall and strong winds across Odisha in the coming days, with Cyclone Dana expected to hit land on October 24. The cyclone is predicted to move northwest, impacting areas between Puri and Sagar Island with wind speeds reaching 120 km/h.

A red alert has been issued for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and other coastal districts, where severe weather conditions are expected. Fishermen have been advised to avoid the sea until October 25.
