Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah revealed on Tuesday that the Congress Party has finalized preparations for the November 13 Assembly by-polls, with candidates likely to be announced soon for the three electoral segments.

While the Congress has decided to grant the Sandur seat to Bellary MP E Tukaram's wife, Annapurna, the candidates for Shiggaon and Channapatna are still under discussion. The deadline for nominations is October 25, with withdrawals due by October 30.

By-elections are required for Sandur, Shiggaon, and Channapatna, as these seats were vacated after their representatives were elected to the Lok Sabha. BJP has announced candidates for two segments but has deferred the Channapatna seat to JD(S), which is yet to declare its candidate.
