West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Pant has called on the junior doctors protesting over the RG Kar hospital incident to meet with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday.
The state government has turned down the doctors' request for a live telecast but has approved a recording of the meeting to ensure transparency. Chief Secretary Pant stated that the delegation would be limited to 15 members for smoother discussions.
The junior doctors had previously declined Chief Minister Banerjee's invitation to discuss the situation in a closed-door session.
