An 11-year-old girl in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, was injured on Tuesday night after a man-eating wolf attacked her. Authorities have admitted the girl to the local government hospital in Mahasi for treatment, according to the Mahasi CHC incharge.

The incident has heightened fear among locals as the Uttar Pradesh Forest Department continues its search for a sixth wolf. On Tuesday, the department captured the fifth killer wolf, while one remains elusive. The wolves have been linked to several attacks on villagers in the region.

The Forest Department initiated 'Operation Bhediya' to catch a pack of wolves responsible for attacks in 25-30 villages under the Mahsi tehsil. Snap cameras have been installed around the probable habitats of the wolves to monitor their movements, aiding efforts to apprehend them. The wolf attacks have resulted in 9 deaths and over 40 injuries to date.
