On Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Forest Minister Arun Kumar Saxena announced that the Forest Department has successfully captured five out of six wolves in Bahraich. The operation, termed a 'good success,' aims to capture the remaining wolf while educating villagers about safety during wild animal attacks.

'Photos of six wolves were seen; four were caught earlier, and we are happy that one more was caught today. We are also educating and advising people on safety during wild animal attacks,' Saxena told ANI. The captured wolf has been taken to a rescue shelter.

Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Ajeet Pratap Singh confirmed that the captured wolf is a female and emphasized that the search for the remaining wolf continues. The operation, called 'Operation Bhediya,' had initially employed drones to locate the wolves but halted their use after the animals started recognizing and evading them.

Nine people have been killed and more than 40 injured in wolf attacks across various Bahraich villages. Snap cameras have been installed to monitor wolf movements and aid in the capture of the elusive animal.
