Operation Bhediya: Fifth Wolf Captured in Bahraich's Mahasi Tehsil
The 'Operation Bhediya' campaign in Bahraich's Mahasi tehsil successfully captured its fifth wolf, part of a pack responsible for eight deaths and over 20 injuries. Launched on July 17, the operation aims to capture a remaining lame wolf. The captured wolf was trapped near Ghaghra river.

The 'Operation Bhediya' campaign in Bahraich's Mahasi tehsil has captured its fifth wolf since the operation began on July 17. This pack of wolves has been responsible for eight deaths and more than 20 injuries.
The latest capture occurred near Ghaghra river close to Harabnspur village, confirmed Divisional Forest Officer Ajit Pratap Singh. The fifth wolf tried to evade capture but was trapped in a net with the help of villagers and forest workers.
The team is now focusing on capturing the last wolf in the pack, believed to be lame, to eliminate the ongoing threat. District Magistrate Monika Rani highlighted the dire situation, noting that the wolves have been terrorizing around 50 villages.
