Man Arrested for Allegedly Raping Minor in Bhopal

A 38-year-old man has been arrested for the alleged rape of a 15-year-old schoolgirl in Bhopal, disclosed a police officer on Friday.

The incident took place on August 28, though the complaint was lodged on September 5 at Eintkhedi Police Station, as per the FIR obtained by ANI.

The accused, identified as Irfan Khan, was known to the victim, who referred to him as 'uncle.' During the school lunch hour, he allegedly lured the minor and committed the crime, said Bhopal Rural Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar Sinha.

"A case has been registered, and the accused has been arrested," confirmed SP Sinha. He stated that the accused would be produced in court on Friday and that further investigation is ongoing.

The victim, who did not immediately disclose the incident, informed her parents the following day, but was unable to report it sooner due to illness. She eventually filed the complaint on September 5 at Eintkhedi Police Station, added SP Sinha.
